there is something of the marvelous.”

Chapman's Peak is a beautiful 5 km hike with a 360 degree view from the top.
The hike is situated along Chapman's Peak drive between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. The single track path is surrounded by incredible fynbos and breath taking views.
This trail is dog friendly but bring a lead in case you bump into other hikers using the trail. No permit is required for this hike, although there may be a toll fee if you are driving to the start from the Hout Bay side.
The hike begins with a steep incline through a valley. After some zig-zagging you will reach a flat clearing, at this clearing take the path to your right and continue the ascent.
After some more climbing you will reach a second clearing with a beautiful view of Fish Hoek on your left and the ocean on your right. Then you will climb lower Chapman's Peak, descend into the saddle and then tackle the last climb to reach the top, at an elevation of 593m. After taking in the amazing view at the top and taking some time to catch your breath, you follow the same path back to the start of the trail.
This is definitely one of my favourite hikes, and I hope you will enjoy it too.
